Small Notes, January 2011
Happy New Year!
Lots of snow and shoveling here lately. It's awfully hard to remember to shovel "properly" to avoid injury when you're looking at so much snow. Watch out for bending and twisting and try to stand up tall and stretch frequently!
On the subject of self-care, read the suggestions on self-care tools and two articles on self-care ideas and techniques in this newsletter. You can also visit my Facebook and Twitter pages for interesting articles on health and wellness.
Hope you all can enjoy the winter weather and bask in the glow of our slowly lengthening days!
Warmly,
Karen

Self Help Tips
I've found a helpful blog by a physical therapist, Mike Reinhold. He had a recent article about self-massage tools that you may find helpful. I've not tried all of them, but I can second his recommendation for foam rollers. They are very useful in maintaining muscle and fascia in between massage sessions. Next time you're in the office, ask to try my foam roller to see what you think.
