Chair Massage
What is Chair Massage?
- Chair massage is intended for stress relief in a short massage session. It can be therapeutically oriented to solve soft tissue discomfort, but these issues are often better addressed with table massage.
- It is given while the client is seated in an ergonomically designed and sturdy massage chair.
- It is typically given in 5, 10, or 15 minute sessions.
- No lotion or oil is used, unless it is desired for arm and hand massage.
- It is given to the client while they are fully clothed. Bulky outer clothing layers, jewelry and eyeglasses should be removed for comfort.
- The focus is normally on the neck, shoulders, back, arms and hands. It can include the head, upper chest, hips and legs.
- It is an excellent introduction to massage for first time receivers.

What do you need to provide for Chair Massage?

- Chair massage sessions are priced at $1/minute. Event pricing can be arranged.
- Cash, check, or credit cards are accepted.
- Call to set-up arrangements for a one time event or for regularly scheduled sessions.
- Gift certificates are available
What to expect from your chair massage?
- You may fill out a brief health questionnaire and will go over your health history to check for contraindications to massage. You can discuss any questions or concerns that you have about the massage.
- You'll be shown how to sit comfortably in the chair and be instructed to take a few deep relaxing breaths as you settle in and relax.
- Massage is meant to be comfortable, so let your therapist know if you experience any discomfort. Sometimes as you release muscle tension, your body position will shift. Let your therapist know immediately and they can readjust the seat for your comfort.
- It is recommended to drink plenty of water after a massage. Massage releases toxins from your tissues and you'll want to flush these out of your system.
- Massage can do more than increase your sense of relaxation and release muscle tension. It can also increase mental clarity, increase body awareness, decrease anxiety, and improve overall wellbeing.
